The Rajasthan state government will be organising folk art festivals to boost the tourism sector, which is still recovering from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. As per the reports, these festivals will help conserve the arts and culture of different regions of the state and work toward uplifting artists.

As per the records, Rajasthan recently has 22 types of folk festivals, which the state government is planning to host from the panchayat to the state level. And to make this a success, the tourism department will be preparing a detailed plan for it and cultural competitions will be held with a budget of INR 27 crore.
Referring to this, an official in the know-how added that the Rajasthan folk art festival organised from the panchayat to the state level will increase the arrival of domestic and foreign tourists in the state. Major local tourist places would be selected on priority for organising the festival, he added.

The official added that the protection of folk arts and culture of different regions of Rajasthan will be done through the festival, while the platform will also be used to promote local folk artists who faced a hard time during the pandemic.

For this, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has even directed officials to prepare the plan at the earliest.

The Minister added that most tourists visit places like Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Bikaner, Alwar, Jodhpur, Sawai Madhopur, along with many other unexplored tourist sites in other districts where there is a huge potential to promote tourism, will be highlighted.

He stated that the festival is planned in such a manner that all such destinations can be prominently highlighted among tourists so that they have new choices for planning their trips and spend a few more days in Rajasthan.
