Edoardo Bove’s solitary goal in the first leg sealed a 1-0 victory for the Italian side, securing their progression.

Despite Moussa Diaby’s close attempt that struck the crossbar in the second leg’s first half, Xabi Alonso’s team couldn’t break through.

Roma will now advance to the final in Budapest on May 31st.

Mourinho, with a perfect record of winning all five of his previous European finals, including last season’s Europa Conference League with Roma, aims to continue his success.

Leverkusen, facing a deficit to overcome, displayed early aggression, and Diaby’s powerful strike hitting the bar and bouncing away came close to leveling the tie.

Shortly after, Kerem Demirbay’s low shot was saved by Roma goalkeeper Rui Patricio, and Leverkusen was left fuming when Sardar Azmoun was seemingly fouled by Bryan Cristante just outside the box, but play was allowed to continue, denying them a clear opportunity with only Patricio to beat.

The home team persisted with their offensive efforts in the second half, as Azmoun narrowly missed the target with a shot. However, despite their territorial dominance, they struggled to create significant scoring opportunities.

After a 31-year absence from European finals prior to last season, Roma can now anticipate their second final in consecutive years.
