On Monday, the country announced the launch of basic health insurance for all private sector and domestic workers who are currently uninsured. Starting January 1, all employers must purchase a health insurance package for their employees. The package, valid for two years, will cover individuals up to 64 years of age and include dependents. Costs for treatment will be lowered, and co-payments for medications will be capped at 30%, with an annual maximum of AED 1,500.

Additionally, the 2022 introduction of a mandatory unemployment insurance program ensures that workers who lose their jobs receive monthly financial support, fostering economic security.
