Australian Tennis Star Nick Kyrgios Withdraws from Wimbledon 2023 Due to Wrist Injury

by THE GULF TALK

Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios has announced his withdrawal from Wimbledon 2023 due to a wrist injury.
The 28-year-old, who reached the men’s singles final last year but lost to Novak Djokovic, has had a challenging year with injuries, including knee surgery.
Kyrgios revealed on Instagram that he tore a ligament in his wrist during his comeback and despite his efforts to be ready for Wimbledon, he didn’t have enough time to manage the injury.
He expressed disappointment but assured his fans that he will be back.
Kyrgios was seeded 30th and was scheduled to play David Goffin in the first round.
Wimbledon expressed their well wishes for his recovery on social media. This setback adds to Kyrgios’ injury-plagued season, which included pulling out of the Australian Open in January and undergoing surgery for a meniscus cyst. He made his competitive return in June but experienced difficulties in his matches. Kyrgios had been practicing at the All England Club but ultimately decided to withdraw from the tournament.
