Hojlund’s Scoring Streak Continues Rajmus Hojlund extended his impressive goal-scoring run by finding the net for the sixth consecutive Premier League game as Manchester United secured a narrow 2-1 victory over Luton Town on Sunday.

While it took the 21-year-old Dane until December 26 to open his league account for Erik ten Hag’s side, he has been in exceptional form ever since. Scoring just 37 seconds into the match, Hojlund became the youngest player to achieve this feat, surpassing the record set by Newcastle United’s Joe Willock in 2021.

Ten Hag praised Hojlund’s character, stating, “We recruited him on his character. I knew it was strong. He can really perform under stress, and that is something you need as a Manchester United striker.”

However, the concern for Ten Hag was the performances of experienced players Harry Maguire and Caemiro, both of whom were substituted at half-time due to reckless yellow cards.

Salah’s Return Boosts Liverpool Mohamed Salah made a triumphant return for Liverpool on Saturday, entering the game just before half-time to replace the injured Diogo Jota in the match against Brentford.

Having been sidelined since New Year’s Day due to a hamstring injury suffered at the Asian Cup, Salah wasted no time getting back into form. He scored a goal and provided an assist for Cody Gapko, contributing to Liverpool’s 4-1 victory.

With 15 goals and nine assists this season, Salah trails only Erling Haaland (16) in the scoring charts. His overall goal contributions of 24 are unmatched, and he has now scored and assisted in 30 different Premier League games, ranking behind only Wayne Rooney, Thierry Henry, and Alan Shearer in the competition’s history.

Despite the convincing win, injuries to Jota, Curtis Jones, and Darwin Nunez tempered the celebrations for the league leaders.

Watkins Shines with Double Delight Ollie Watkins showcased his clinical finishing with a double in Aston Villa’s 2-1 victory over Fulham on Saturday, allowing his team to leapfrog Tottenham Hotspur in the standings.

Manager Unai Emery praised Watkins for his performance at Craven Cottage, emphasizing his clinicality and overall contribution. Watkins now boasts 13 goals and 10 assists in 25 games, positioning him just behind Salah in goal involvements.

With his highest-ever goal tally across all competitions (18), Watkins aims to surpass his previous Premier League record of 15 goals achieved last season. Emery commended Watkins for his commitment and defensive contributions during set pieces, expressing pride in the 28-year-old’s development.
