Multiple Schools in Delhi Receive Bomb Threats via Email, Prompting Evacuation of Students

Upon receiving bomb threats via email on Wednesday morning, several schools across Delhi initiated evacuations. Police officers, bomb detection teams, bomb disposal squads, and officials from the Delhi Fire Service have been deployed to conduct search operations in the affected schools. According to a Delhi Fire official, approximately nine schools have received bomb threats thus far.

“During the initial investigation since yesterday, numerous schools across Delhi have received emails containing threats. A consistent pattern was observed in the manner these threat mails were sent. While the specific date is not mentioned, the use of BCC in the email indicates a singular email being sent to multiple recipients,” stated the police.

“Several schools have reported receiving bomb threats. We are diligently investigating all such threats, and the matter is under active investigation,” the police elaborated.

“As a precautionary measure, all schools in Delhi-NCR that have received threat emails have been closed, and students have been safely sent home following the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP),” authorities assured.

“The school administration has promptly informed parents regarding a received bomb threat via email this morning. As a precautionary measure, students are being dispersed immediately. Parents are kindly requested to collect their wards from their respective bus stops without delay. The Bus Route Incharges will provide updates on bus movements as necessary,” read the communication addressed to the parents.

“We received a notification from the school about its closure today due to unavoidable circumstances. Initially unaware of the situation, we later learned about the bomb threat incident. While concerning, it’s reassuring to know that it was eventually deemed a hoax,” shared Praveen, a parent of a student at the school.
