Total lockdown to be imposed during Eid Al Adha in Oman

The Supreme Committee in the Sultanate of Oman tasked with tackling developments resulting from the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic has announced a total lockdown during Eid Al Adha.

The lockdown on commercial activities and ban on movement of individuals and vehicles shall continue all day long (throughout the three days of Eid).

To protect all individuals and safeguard the capability of the health system in the Sultanate, the following have been decided:

1-The closure of commercial activities during the evening and the ban on movement of individuals and vehicles shall continue to take effect from 5:00 pm every day until 4:00 am the next day. This is to start from Friday, July 18, 2021, to the morning of Saturday, July 31, 2021, except on the three days of Eid Al Adha (10 to 12 Dhul Hijjah 1442 AH).

2- The Governorate of Musandam is exempted from the decision of closure of commercial activities. The decision starts to take effect from July 6, with emphasis on the population in Musandam Governorate taking full precautions as indicated earlier, like wearing face masks and refraining from gatherings.

Visits to the Governorate of Musandam are not permitted except for those who have taken at least one dose of the approved vaccine (among citizens and residents aged 18 years and above), as well as travelers who took two doses of the vaccines.

This decision takes effect from 5:00 pm from Friday, July 9, 2021, until further notice.

3-A new list of countries, the people from which, have been banned from entering Oman has been created. These countries include Singapore, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Tunisia, Libya, Argentina, Columbia, Brunei, and Darussalam.

Travelers from these countries are not allowed to enter the Sultanate with effect from 5:00 pm on Friday, July 9, 2021, until further notice.

The same ban applies to travelers who happened to have visited the above-mentioned countries within 14 days from applying to enter the Sultanate.
