Dubai Municipality Introduces ‘Building in Dubai’ Platform in Alignment with Dubai Digital Authority’s Vision.

Dubai Municipality has officially launched the ‘Building in Dubai’ platform, a comprehensive suite of services designed to meet the requirements of Dubai Digital Authority’s ‘Digital City Experiences.’ This strategic initiative signifies Dubai’s commitment to accelerating digital transformation across various sectors, demonstrating the Municipality’s dedication to pioneering innovation driven by smart systems. Dawoud Al Hajri, the Director General of Dubai Municipality, unveiled the platform during GITEX GLOBAL and provided extensive insights into the array of construction sector services, information, and processes offered through this initiative, encompassing contributions from Dubai Municipality and other relevant entities within the emirate.

The ‘Building in Dubai’ platform targets various stakeholders within the construction sector, including property owners, developers, consultants, and contractors. It aims to enhance project sustainability and fortify Dubai’s global competitiveness in the dynamic construction industry, known for its progressive and innovative nature. Al Hajri emphasized that this platform solidifies Dubai’s status as a global leader in leveraging technology and digital transformation to advance the construction and building sector, reflecting the remarkable progress that the emirate continues to make, reaffirming its role as a leading international hub in construction and transformative architecture.

Speaking at the launch, Al Hajri explained, “We unveiled the ‘Building in Dubai’ platform during GITEX Global 2023 as a pioneering move to consolidate various construction-related services into one user-friendly digital system. This platform reduces complexity, saves time, and enhances satisfaction for project owners. It underscores the Municipality’s commitment to establishing an intelligent, sustainable, and globally advanced construction sector by harnessing cutting-edge technological innovations to deliver superior construction permit services. This aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to position Dubai as a global hub for construction, building, and urban development, further strengthening Dubai’s leadership and global competitiveness.”

Al Hajri also mentioned that Dubai Municipality is spearheading digital transformation in the construction sector by developing a roadmap for implementing Building Information Modelling (BIM) in collaboration with partners. This initiative will provide essential building information, offering smart services and creating a ‘digital twin’ of Dubai, enhancing the efficiency and innovation of construction processes.
