Virat Kohli and KL Rahul Shine as India Dominates Pakistan by 228 Runs in Asia Cup Super Four Stage.
In a commanding performance, Virat Kohli (122) and KL Rahul (111) delivered unbeaten centuries as India surged to a formidable total of 356-2 against Pakistan during the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup in Colombo. The pair’s partnership was a crucial element in India’s resounding victory, their largest ever over Pakistan in one-day internationals.

“We didn’t think about the partnership too much – the idea was to keep batting. It is one of the memorable partnerships we’ve had and for Indian cricket as well,” Kohli stated.

The match, which had been interrupted by rain, continued into an additional reserve day, with India resuming at 147-2. Captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill had previously laid the foundation for India with their half-centuries. Kohli and Rahul initially played cautiously before launching an aggressive assault on the Pakistan bowling attack, amassing 100 runs in 102 balls. Rahul’s remarkable 106-ball innings featured 12 fours and two sixes, while Kohli’s explosive knock of 94 balls included three sixes and nine fours.

In response, Pakistan faltered early, losing key wickets, including that of captain Babar Azam, who was dismissed for just 10 runs by Hardik Pandya. The middle order crumbled as Kuldeep Yadav wreaked havoc, clinching his second ODI five-wicket haul.

Pakistan managed to reach only 128-8 in 32 overs, with both Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah unable to bat due to injuries. India’s dominant performance marked a significant victory in the Asia Cup Super Four stage.
