Oman’s Muscat International Airport has claimed the title of the world’s best airport, according to a recent study conducted by passenger rights experts at AirHelp Inc. The annual analysis evaluates over 4,000 global travel hubs, considering factors such as on-time performance, passenger feedback, punctuality, and amenities like food and shopping options.

Securing the top spot, Muscat International Airport surpassed competitors globally. Doha’s Hamad International Airport also garnered recognition, securing the fifth position in the rankings. The second, third, and fourth spots went to Brazil’s Recife/Guararapes – Gilberto Freyre International, South Africa’s Cape Town International, and Brazil’s Brasilia – Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International, respectively. The top 10 list also includes two more Brazilian airports and three from Japan, with Tokyo’s Narita making it to the prestigious ranking.

On the flip side, Indonesia’s Banjarmasin Syamsudin Noor International Airport leads the list of the worst airports. Malta International Airport, London Gatwick, Lisbon Humberto Delgado, and Belgrade Nikola Tesla complete the top five in the unfavorable rankings. Rounding out the bottom half of the list are Bali’s Denpasar, Toronto Pearson, Bulgaria’s Sofia Airport, Marseille Provence, and another airport from Indonesia.
