Ajman University inaugurates the International Arab Conference on Information Technology (ACIT 2023).

The conference saw the involvement of 140 researchers, who presented more than 140 research papers across 24 scientific sessions spanning three days.

Under the auspices of Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, Ajman University has launched the 24th edition of the International Arab Conference on Information Technology (ACIT’2023). The conference, taking place until December 8, is a collaborative effort with the Colleges of Computer and Information Society affiliated with the Association of Arab Universities, and it is held in partnership with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) — UAE Section.

The event was attended by Prof Khaled Assaleh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Honorary Chair of the conference, Prof Amr Ezzat Salameh, Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities, and Prof Muhammed Hassan, Secretary General of the Colleges of Computing and Information Society (CCIS).

Featuring the participation of 140 researchers from 25 countries, the conference showcased over 140 research papers presented in 24 scientific sessions over three days. Leading researchers and academics engaged in global discussions on the latest innovations, developments, and applications in various fields of information technology.

The conference included four keynote presentations by world-renowned scholars from top universities, covering diverse topics with a primary focus on the role of technology and artificial intelligence in fields such as education, healthcare, and the environment. Additionally, sessions addressed the use of the Internet of Things (IoT) to boost growth across industries and discussed significant applications of innovative machine learning.

Prof Assaleh underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in achieving digital transformation across vital sectors, emphasizing the need for collaboration between educational institutions and leading technology companies. He stressed the importance of developing specialized human capital in information technology and artificial intelligence through advanced and specialized educational programs.

Prof Amr Ezzat Salameh highlighted the significant and rapid transformation occurring in the field of information technology worldwide. He emphasized the reliance on digital transformation, communication technology, and information technology for progress, urging additional efforts to enhance students’ skills to meet the evolving demands of the job market in the Fourth Industrial Revolution era.

Prof Mohammed Hassan spoke about the history and major achievements of ACIT in its 24 editions and its impact on enhancing research productivity in the Arab World through interaction with top international researchers.
