Emirates Announces Extensive Recruitment Drive for Jobs in the UAE

The Emirates Group has recently initiated a large-scale recruitment campaign to fill numerous vacant positions in its major subsidiaries, Emirates airline and dnata. The recruitment drive aims to attract top talent for roles including cabin crew, pilots, engineers, IT professionals, and customer service agents.

Oliver Grohmann, the Senior Vice President for Human Resources at the Emirates Group, emphasized the focus on recruiting the best and brightest individuals who are well-suited to support and drive the future growth and expansion of the organization. To ensure an efficient and effective selection process, the group is leveraging the latest technologies, such as digital assessments, artificial intelligence, and other advanced recruitment systems.

In the previous financial year, the Emirates Group received approximately 2.7 million applications worldwide for various roles across the organization. This recruitment drive comes as the aviation industry, including Emirates, flydubai, and other local airlines, experienced a significant recovery from the impacts of the pandemic, leading to an increased demand for new staff members.

During the 2022-23 financial year, the Emirates Group recorded a remarkable profit of Dh10.9 billion, a substantial improvement from the previous year’s loss of Dh3.8 billion. With ongoing expansion plans, including the addition of new aircraft from Airbus and Boeing, Emirates continues to expand its route network, necessitating the hiring of additional personnel to meet operational requirements. The airline is set to introduce Airbus A350s and Boeing 777-Xs to its growing fleet next year.

Throughout the year, Emirates will conduct open days and invite-only events in numerous cities worldwide. The recruitment process is designed to be efficient, with candidates typically contacted within 48 hours of their assessment, and the entire process completed within a day.

For pilot recruitment, Emirates has scheduled a series of open days in Dublin, Manchester, London Gatwick, and London Stansted in August. Additionally, an online information session is planned for July 19 at 1pm, Dubai time. Since 2022, the airline has successfully added over 900 new pilots through its three recruitment programs: direct entry captains, accelerated command, and first officers.

Emirates Engineering is organizing open days in various countries, including Australia, Canada, Brazil, South Africa, and the UK, during July and August. These events aim to hire 75 structural technicians and fill over 400 positions in aircraft maintenance engineering and engineering support roles.

Furthermore, the Emirates Group aims to recruit more than 400 IT professionals with expertise in software engineering, DevOps, hybrid cloud, agile delivery, technical product management, digital workplace, cybersecurity, IT architecture, innovation, and service management.

Regarding customer service roles, the Emirates Group is seeking individuals who will undergo extensive training before joining Emirates Airport Services, dnata, marhaba, or the contact centers. These roles offer flexibility, allowing individuals to work either full-time or part-time, enabling them to fulfill their lifestyle and career aspirations.

Overall, the Emirates Group’s recruitment drive reflects its commitment to acquiring top talent, utilizing cutting-edge technologies in the selection process, and meeting the growing demands of the aviation industry as it continues its recovery and expansion.
