The bus departs from the Gold Souk bus stand on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday at 2 pm and reaches Salalah at 7 am the next day, making the journey approximately 17 hours. Despite the long hours, the buses have been fully booked since early June, highlighting the popularity of this option among UAE residents.

The bus route includes three stops along the way, providing refreshments and dinner to passengers. The journey passes through Al Ain, the Maziyath border, Buraimi, Ibri, and several towns in Oman before arriving in Salalah. However, it’s important to note that this bus service is exclusively available to UAE residents, who must possess a valid passport with at least six months’ validity and a three-month residency visa.

The one-way fare for this bus trip is priced at Dh150, and a round trip would cost Dh280. Additional expenses include exit charges and Oman visa fees, which can be obtained at the border. Upon arrival in Salalah, there are various accommodation options available, with rooms starting from Dh100. The cost of food per day is estimated to be around Dh30. Overall, a round trip to Salalah, including all expenses, would range from Dh799 to Dh999.
