During a recent event at Aries Group’s Sharjah headquarters, 1,650 employees, primarily from the UAE but also representing the company’s global offices, pledged to donate their organs. Sohan Roy, the founder, chairman, and CEO of Aries Group, celebrated this achievement as a significant commitment to social causes.
In an effort to raise awareness and promote organ donation, the group announced that 90% of its future job openings will be reserved for individuals supporting the organ donation campaign.
According to Roy, the initiative is more than just a philanthropic endeavor; it aligns with Aries Group’s core values, emphasizing the importance of maintaining not only the health of employees but also their families through organ donation.
Aries Group has partnered with Green Life, an initiative by Fr Davis Chiramel, the official volunteer of the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention’s Hayat Programme for organ donation. The collaboration aims to promote deceased organ donation and enhance the lives of those affected by organ failure.
Fr Davis Chiramel, known as the Kidney Priest, is an Indian Catholic priest and the founder of the Accident Care and Transport Service (ACTS) and the Kidney Federation of India. Recently designated as the “Hayat champion” by Mohap, Fr Chiramel has been invited to support the UAE’s organ donation program.
Roy emphasized that Fr Chiramel’s guidance played a crucial role in securing official approval for the UAE campaign, showcasing the collective determination and unity driving this transformative cause.
By championing organ donation, Aries Group aims to foster a culture of self-care among its employees, recognizing that their well-being directly contributes to organizational success. Aries Group, a leader in the marine industry, is headquartered in Sharjah and operates 60 companies across 25 countries.
